About Dr. Frederick Funke
Dr. Funke is a native to Summerville, SC where he grew up and attended Summerville High School. He remained in the area for his undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston studying biology where he also started the college’s club tennis team. He moved on to the Medical University of South Carolina to study medicine and graduated with a Doctorate of Medicine in 2007 from medical school and decided to stay near the ocean for training in internal medicine in Charleston. Deeply rooted locally he pursued a fellowship in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the Medical University in Charleston and then was fortunate enough to join Trident Cardiology Associates in 2014 to serve the community where he was raised.
Dr. Funke is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology. In his free time he enjoys spending time on the water whether it be sailing, fishing, or kitesurfing.
