About Dr. Coker

Dr. Coker is a native to South Carolina and was born and raised in North Charleston. He received a bachelor of science from the College of Charleston and majored in Biology. He went on to study medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina and graduated in 1984 with a Doctorate of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine also at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has dedicated himself and his practice of cardiology to the tri-county area and has been with Trident Cardiology for over thirty years.

Dr. Coker is board certified in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology and is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Coker is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time hunting and fishing in his free time. His two boys Jason and Phillip followed in their father’s footsteps and are both physicians having graduated from MUSC as well.
